 CPD - Domestic Ventilation Best Practice Toolbox Talk

This in‑person session, delivered by envirovent Ventilation Specialists, counts towards contractors’ CPD learning, supporting ongoing professional development and helping maintain individual accreditation through up‑to‑date technical knowledge and regulatory understanding.

Duration: Approximately 60 minutes

A practical workshop providing applied knowledge of domestic ventilation strategies, relevant regulatory requirements, and installation best practices.

  You will learn:

- The importance of indoor air quality and how high humidity causes condensation and mould
- Triggers for compliance under Approved Document F 2021
- Ventilation strategies: MEV, dMEV, MVHR, PIV, PSV – advantages and limitations
- Trickle vs boost rates, whole-dwelling ventilation rates, and how to measure compliance
- Best practice for fan selection, siting, ducting, fire safety, and bathroom zoning
- Fault finding, servicing, and risks of poor maintenance
- Case study: Infinity 8 vs standard extract fan in a typical 3-bed property

  Outcomes:

- Understand when ventilation work becomes notifiable
- Select and apply suitable strategies for different property types
- Avoid common installation issues that lead to failure
- Gain confidence in commissioning and certification
